Participants
| Role | Name | HCID | Charge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reactant | L-Tartaric acid | HCID 444305 | — |
| Solvent | Acetone | HCID 180 | — |
| Product | 2,3-Dihydroxybutanedioic Acid | HCID 875 | 375% |
Reaction Steps
In the reaction flask, 10 gm of the oil obtained as per Example 1 was taken in 150 ml of acetone. To this 3.6 gm of L-(+)-tartaric acid was added and mixed at reflux temperature for about 2-3 hours. Acetone was distilled to obtain 13.5 gm of tartaric acid salt of benzyl perindopril.
