To a mixture of 3-[2-(2-aminoethoxy)-4-methylsulfonyl-benzoylamino]-N-(5-chloropyridin-2-yl)pyridine-2-carboxamide (3.17 g, 6.5 mmol) and 10% MeOH/CH2Cl2 (250 mL) was added 5 N HCl. After stirring for 1 hour, the mixture was concentrated to give the desired product as a solid (3.25 g, 96%).
