Procedure
Methyl 5-(1H-benzimidazol-1-yl)-3-{[(1R)-1-(2-chloro-3-hydroxyphenyl)ethyl]oxy}-2-thiophenecarboxylate (Intermediate 11A, 600 mg, 1.4 mmol) and 2-bromoethanol (120 μL, 1.7 mmol) were coupled using a procedure analogous to Example 4, Step A to give 529 mg of the title compound (71%), 1H NMR (400 MHz, d6-DMSO) δ 8.85 (s, 1H), 7.77 (d, J=7.2 Hz, 1H), 7.64 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 7.39-7.31 (m, 5H), 7.10 (dd, J=8.0 and 1.6 Hz, 1H), 5.98 (m, 1H), 4.40-4.37 (m, 2H), 3.81-3.79 (m, 5H), 1.81 (d, J=6.0 Hz, 3H).
