N-(4-{[(4,4-Difluorocyclohexyl)methyl]amino}-3-nitrophenyl)acetamide (1.48 g, 4.52 mmol) was dissolved in 50 mL of EtOAc containing a catalytic amount of 10% Pd/C. The solution was shaken in a Parr hydrogenation apparatus under H2 atmosphere (45 psi) at rt for 24 h. The solution was filtered through Celite and the solvent was evaporated. Yield: 1.32 g (98%); 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 1.31-1.43 (m, 2 H), 1.64-1.73 (m, 2 H), 1.74-1.82 (m, 1 H), 1.89-1.93 (m, 1 H), 1.93-1.96 (m, 1 H), 2.08-2.17 (m, 5 H), 3.00 (d, J=6.64 Hz, 2 H), 3.27-3.46 (m, 2 H), 6.55 (d, J=8.40 Hz, 1 H), 6.70 (dd, J=8.40, 2.34 Hz, 1 H), 7.01 (s, 1 H), 7.13 (d, J=2.34 Hz, 1 H).
