Procedure

10 g of 1-(p-chlorocyclohexylamino)-4-bromo-7-nitroanthraquinone, 60 ml of n-butylamine, 2.5 g of K acetate, 50 mg of copperI chloride and a trace of copper are heated under reflux until only a little starting material remains detectable in a sample. The mixture is diluted with 35 ml of ethylene glycol monomethyl ether and the product is filtered off and washed with methanol and water. 6.5 g of 1-(p-chlorocyclohexylamino)-4-butylamino-7-nitroanthraquinone are obtained.
