27.7 g (0.1 mol) of tetradecyl chlorocarbonate are added slowly to a solution of 19.3 g (0.1 mol) of the sodium salt of 1,2,2,6,6-pentamethyl-4-piperidinol in 150 ml of toluene, maintaining the temperature at 0° C. After the end of the addition, the mixture is stirred for 2 hours at ambient temperature, washed with water, dried over Na2SO4 and evaporated. The residue is distilled in vacuo. The product obtained has a boiling point of 172°-174° C./0.3 mbar and solidifies with melting point 32°-34° C.
