Reaction Steps
0.5 g of 1-(3-fluoro-4-pyridyl)-6-fluoro-7-(3-acetamido-1-pyrrolidyl)-1,4-dihydro-4-oxoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid is added to 15 ml of ethanol, 10 ml of water and 5 ml of conc. hydrochloric acid. The reaction mixture is refluxed for 18 hours, cooled and concentrated under a reduced pressure to remove the solvent completely.
