The product of Example 12A (10 mg, 0.03 mol) was oxidized with H2O2 (Aldrich, aq., 30%) according to the procedure of Example 23. The title compound was purified by chromatography [SiO2, CH2Cl2:MeOH (v. 5% NH3.H2O), 90:10]. 1H NMR (300 MHz, CD3OD) δ 2.01-2.32 (m, 3H), 2.42-2.64 (m, 2H), 3.41-3.70 (m, 5H), 3.91-4.24 (m, 1H), 5.39-5.59 (m, 1H), 6.55 (d, J=4.0 Hz, 1H), 7.12 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 7.23 (t, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 7.36 (d, J=3.0 Hz, 1H), 7.47 (d, J=8.0 Hz, 1H), 8.96 (s, 2H) ppm.
