Procedure
To a solution of (R)-1-(2,2-difluorobenzo[d][1,3]dioxol-5-yl)-N-(6-(4-((2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)methoxy)phenyl)-5-methylpyridin-2-yl)cyclopropane-carboxamide (160 mg, 0.30 mmol) in methanol (3 mL) and water (0.3 mL) was added 4-methylbenzenesulfonic acid (11 mg, 0.060 mmol). The mixture was heated at 80° C. for 1 hour. The reaction mixture was partitioned between ethyl acetate and water, and the aqueous layer was extracted with ethyl acetate (2×). The combined organic layers were washed with sat. NaHCO3 and brine, dried over MgSO4, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by column chromatography to yield (S)-1-(2,2-difluorobenzo[d][1,3]dioxol-5-yl)-N-(6-(4-(2,3-dihydroxypropoxy)phenyl)-5-methylpyridin-2-yl)cyclopropane-carboxamide (123 mg, 82%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) δ 7.97 (d, J=8.4 Hz, 1H), 7.62 (s, 1H), 7.48 (d, J=8.4 Hz, 1H), 7.29 (d, J=8.7 Hz, 2H), 7.14 (td, J=9.1, 1.7 Hz, 2H), 7.00 (d, J=8.2 Hz, 1H), 6.87 (d, J=8.7 Hz, 2H), 4.02-3.94 (m, 3H), 3.75 (dd, J=11.4, 3.7 Hz, 1H), 3.66 (dd, J=11.4, 5.2 Hz, 1H), 2.19 (s, 3H), 1.67 (q, J=3.6 Hz, 2H), 1.08 (q, J=3.6 Hz, 2H). MS (ESI) m/e (M+H+) 499.3.
