A solution of tert-butyl [3-(cyclopropylmethyl)-2-oxo-4-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-imidazol-1-yl]acetate from Step C (41 mg, 0.125 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (2 mL) and CF3CO2H (1 mL) was stirred at ambient temperature for 3 h. The mixture was concentrated in vacuo to afford the title compound. MS: m/z=273 (M+1).
