Into 20 ml of THF was dissolved 3.12 g of tert-butyl (2R,5S)-4-(3-fluoro-4-cyanophenyl)-2,5-dimethylpiperazine-1-carboxylate, and then 1.40 g of potassium tert-butoxide was added thereto, followed by heating under refluxing overnight. A saturated ammonium chloride aqueous solution was added to the reaction solution, followed by extraction with chloroform. After the organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, the solvent was removed by evaporation to obtain 1.11 g of the title compound.
