Reaction Steps
The compound of Example XXVII (8.0 g) in 2-methoxyethanol was hydrogenated using 5% Pd on carbon as a catalyst and stopping the reaction after one equivalent was taken up. The product (5.3 g) had an m.p. of 192°-194° (83%).
