4 g, that is, 11 mmol of the 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetylglucopyranosyl azide was added to 50 ml of dry tetrahydrofuran containing 200 mg of PtO2. The mixture was shaken under 40 psi of hydrogen for 2 hours, filtered, concentrated to dryness, to produce 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetylglucopyranosyl amine.
