Procedure
Ethyl 3-benzyloxy-5-methyl-7-(4-methyl-1,3-thiazol-2-yl)-4-oxo-4,5,6,7-tetrahydropyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrazine-2-carboxylate (76 mg, 0.178 mmol) was treated with a 5% solution of HBr in AcOH, and the reaction was stirred for 2 hours at room temperature. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue azeotroped twice with MeOH to afford the title product as a bright orange solid. ES MS (M+H)=337.
