A solution of 1-(6-chloropyridazin-3-yl)-1-(2,6-difluorophenyl)but-3-yn-2-one (10.2 g) in toluene was heated to 90° C. for 3 hours. LCMS analysis revealed the reaction was complete and the reaction was concentrated to yield a solid. The crude material was purified via silica gel chromatography (CH2Cl2/EtOAc/MeOH) to yield the title compound.
