Procedure
An amount of caprazol was dissolved in an amount of iN aqueous hydrochloric acid and the resultant solution was heated at 100° C. for 3 hours, thereby to produce caprazene in the yield of 20%. About 20% of caprazol was left unreacted. Respective chemical structure of each compound was confirmed by NMR analysis. The resulting reaction solution was concentrated under a reduced pressure and the resulting residue was subjected to a silica-gel column chromatography. Thus, there can be separated caprazene and caprazol, from each other.
