Reaction Steps
A mixture of 6-hydroxy-5-iodoindan-1-one (6.36 g, 23.2 mmol), caesium carbonate (15.12 g, 46.4 mmol) and ethyl4-bromobutyrate (9.05 g, 46.4 mmol) in acetone (60 ml) is heated at reflux pendant 1 hour 15 minutes.
