Procedure
In 25 ml of EtOH was dissolved 0.42 g (0.00171 mole) of 1-(6-chloro-3-pyridyl)amino-1-methylthio-2-nitroethylene, followed by addition of 0.2 g of a 40% solution of methylamine in methanol. The mixture was refluxed for 1.5 hours. The solvent was distilled off and the crystalline residue was washed with AcOEt and dried to recover 0.33 g of the title compound as white crystals.
