N-(4-Piperidylmethyl) 3,4-dihydro-2 H-[1,3]oxazino[3,2-a]indole- 10-carboxamide (E21) was alkylated with iodoethane using the method of Example 22. The title compound was obtained as a white solid (27%), which was converted to its hydrochloride salt and crystallised from acetone/ethanol/ether as a white solid mp 243°-245° C.
