Procedure

The title compound (D5) was prepared from ethyl 7,8,9, 10-tetrahydro-6 H-azepino[1,2-a]indole-1 1-carboxylate by hydrolysis with sodium hydroxide as in the method of Description 3d. After 4 hours heating under reflux, the mixture was acidified with 5M HCl acid and the white solid formed filtered off and dried (82%).
