The method of preparation of 2-imino-4-methylpiperidine acetate was used to convert 2-amino-6-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine to the title compound. Product was crystallized from EtOAc to give a white solid. The analysis of the product was found to be consistent with the proposed structure. MH+=167; 1H NMR (D2O): δ4.20-4.00 (m, 1H); 2.60-2.50 (m, 2H); 2.05-1.50 (m, 4H); 1.80 (s, 3H).
