In a manner analogous to that described in Example 45(i), from 7.28 g of 1,2-dibenzyl 1-tert.butyl 4-methyl-1,1,2(R)-pentanetricarboxylate and 3.88 g of allyl bromide there were obtained 7.234 g of 1,2-dibenzyl 1-tert.butyl 4-methyl-1-(prop-2-en-1-yl)-1,1,2(R)-pentanetricarboxylate in the form of a colorless oil; MS: 495 (M+H)+.
