Procedure
37 Grams of 6-(4-oxo-1-piperidylcarbonyl)-3,4- -dihydrocarbostyril, 30.3 g of hydroxylamine·hydrochloride and 83.5 g of sodium acetate were dissolved in 600 ml of ethanol and 300 ml of water, the mixture wa stirred overnight at room temperature. The crystals precipitated were collected by filtration, and recrystallized from ethanol to yield 16 g of 6-(4-hydroxylimino-1-piperidylcarbonyl)-3,4-dihydrocarbostyril.
