Procedure

A suspension of N-(3-(5-chloro-2-methoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine-3-carboxamide (1.0 g, 2.7 mmol, 1 equiv), 2-chloroethyl para-toluenesulfonate (745 μL, 4.11 mmol, 1.5 equiv), and cesium carbonate (2.16 g, 6.62 mmol, 2.4 equiv) in N,N-dimethylformamide (10 mL) was heated at 50° C. After 3 h, the reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo, and the resulting residue was partitioned between ethyl acetate (30 mL) and half-saturated aqueous sodium chloride solution (30 mL). The aqueous was extracted with ethyl acetate (2×20 mL). The combined organic was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated. Purification by flash column chromatography (ethyl acetate) provided product (950 mg, 77% yield). LCMS (ESI): M+H=432.1.
