Procedure

3-(1-Benzyl-6-chloro-2-methyl-1H-indol-3-yloxy)-benzoic acid methyl ester (0.100 g, 0.25 mmol) was dissolved in THF (3 mL) and the solution was cooled to 0° C. Diisobutylaluminum hydride (0.750 mL, 1.0M in hexanes, 0.75 mmol) was added dropwise and the reaction was stirred for 20 minutes then an additional amount of diisobutylaluminum hydride (0.100 mL, 1.0M in hexanes, 0.10 mmol) was added. The reaction was allowed to stir for 20 minutes then quenched with aq. HCl (2 mL, 1M). The reaction was submitted to a standard workup procedure to give the title compound.
