3-(1-Benzyl-6-chloro-2-methyl-1H-indol-3-ylsulfanyl)-benzaldehyde (0.225 g, 0.57 mmol) was dissolved in pyridine (10 mL) and then hydroxylamine hydrochloride (0.235 g, 3.42 mmol). The reaction stirred at room temperature for 45 minutes and was submitted to an aqueous workup to provide the title compound, which was taken to the next step without further purification.
