NaH (415 mg, 10.38 mmol) was added to BnOH, stirred at rt for 0.5 h. The NaOBn solution was transferred to a flask charged with (S)-2-(7-bromo-2-chloro-5-methylbenzo[d]thiazol-6-yl)-2-tert-butoxyethyl pivalate (65I) (1.6 g, 3.46 mmol). The reaction mixture was heated at 60° C. for 45 min. The reaction mixture was washed by sat NaHCO3, extracted by EtOAc, the organic phase was washed by brine, dry over MgSO4, filtered, concentrated down, distilled most NaOH off. The residue was purified by silica gel column, eluting by 0-50% EtOAc in hexanes.
