A solution of 4-chloro-8-nitroquinazoline (300 mg, 1.43 mmol) and 3-(trifluoromethyl)aniline (461 mg, 2.86 mmol) in iPrOH (1.5 mL) was heated in a sealed tube at 120° C. for 2 h. Then the reaction mixture was concentrated and purified by triturating in Et2O to afford 425 mg of the title product. 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO d6): δ 10.52 (br s, 1H), 8.88 (d, J=7.8 Hz, 1H), 8.75 (s, 1H), 8.42 (d, J=7.2 Hz, 1H), 8.31 (s, 1H), 8.22 (d, J=6.9 Hz, 1H), 7.87-7.81 (t, J=8.4 Hz, 1H), 7.71-7.65 (t, J=7.8 Hz, 1H), 7.56-7.30 (d, J=7.8 Hz, 1H); MS (m/z): 335.19 (M+H)+.
