To a solution of 8-nitro-4-(3-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy)quinazoline (400 mg, 1.19 mmol) in EtOAc (5 mL) was added 10% Pd on C (200 mg) and the suspension was hydrogenated in a Parr apparatus for 1 h at 20 psi. Then the reaction mixture was filtered through celite and the filtrate was concentrated. The residue was purified by column chromatography using 5% EtOAc in CHCl3 to afford 300 mg of the title product. 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO d6): δ 8.60 (s, 1H), 7.79 (s, 1H), 7.75-7.71 (m, 3H), 7.47-7.44 (m, 2H), 7.11 (d, J=6.3 Hz, 1H), 6.07 (s, 2H); MS (m/z): 305.19 (M+H)+.
