Procedure
A suspension of 4-chloro-8-nitro-2-(trifluoromethyl)quinazoline (200 mg, 0.72 mmol), 4,4-dimethylcyclohexanamine (109 mg, 0.86 mmol), K2CO3 (398 mg, 2.89 mmol) in CH3CN (2 mL) was heated at reflux for 8 h. Then the reaction mixture was quenched with water and was extracted with EtOAc. The organic layer was washed with brine, separated, dried, filtered and concentrated. The residue was purified by column chromatography to afford 120 mg of the title product. 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO d6): δ 8.91-8.89 (d, J=7.2 Hz, 1H), 8.69-8.66 (d, J=7.8 Hz, 1H), 8.39-8.37 (d, J=7.8 Hz, 1H), 7.84-7.79 (t, J=8.1 Hz, 1H), 4.12 (m, 1H), 1.76-1.64 (m, 4H), 1.46-1.28 (m, 4H), 0.98 (s, 3H), 0.95 (s, 3H).
