Procedure

A solution of (1-ethoxycyclopropyl)oxy-trimethylsilane (25 ml, 124.9 mmol) in methanol (60 ml) was treated with conc. HCl (3 drops), stirred at 20° C. for 16 h, concentrated at 20° C., and the residue distilled (55° C., 19-20 mbar) to give 1-ethoxycyclopropanol/1-methoxycyclopropanol (92:8, 10.36 g, 82%).
