A pressure vessel was charged with 2-(2-bromo-4-chlorophenyl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolane (0.732 g, 2.306 mmol), potassium carbonate (1.328 g, 9.61 mmol), 5-bromo-N-(2,4-dimethoxybenzyl)-N-(1,2,4-thiadiazol-5-yl)naphthalene-2-sulfonamide (Intermediate D) (1 g, 1.922 mmol), tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) (0.222 g, 0.192 mmol) in dioxane (12.81 mL) and water (6.41 mL). The reaction was heated in an oil bath at 100° C. for 35 min. LC/MS indicated that the desired product (M+H=479.8) was generated. Water was added to the mixture and washed with EtOAc. The water layer was acidified with 5% HCl (15 mL) and washed with EtOAc again to afford a light yellow solid. The product was used in the next reaction without further purification. m/z (ESI) 480.0 (M+H)+.
