Procedure
To a solution of (2R,3R,4R,5S,6S)-2-(acetoxymethyl)-6-(4-chloro-3-(4-(1-formylcyclopropyl)benzyl)phenyl)tetrahydro-2H-pyran-3,4,5-triyl triacetate (300.0 mg, 0.44 mmol), in ethanol (5 mL) under nitrogen atmosphere, was added pyridine (0.17 mL, 2.20 mmol) and O-methylhydroxylamine hydrochloride (73.0 mg, 0.88 mmol). The reaction mixture was heated at 80° C. for 4 h. After completion of the reaction as confirmed by TLC, the solvent was evaporated. The crude compound was diluted with ethyl acetate (40 mL). The organic layer was washed with 5% HCl (10 mL), water (10 mL), dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo to afford crude product which was purified by column chromatography (silica gel, 1:4 EtOAc:Pet Ether) to afford the title compound (240 mg, 77%) as a white solid.
