Triisopropylsilyltrifluoromethanesulfonate (3.5 mL, 13.0 mmol) and DIPEA (3.2 mL, 19.5 mmol) were added to a solution of 6-bromo-5-fluoro-3,3-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-indole (1.5 g, 6.5 mmol) in DCM (50 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight then quenched with saturated aqueous NaHCO3 and extracted with DCM (×3). The organic phase was dried (MgSO4), filtered and concentrated. The crude material was purified by SiO2 chromatography (10% EtOAc in petrol) to give the title compound (1.8 g) as a white solid. 1H NMR (DMSO-d6): 7.07 (1H, d), 6.65 (1H, d), 3.44 (2H, s), 1.64-1.33 (3H, m), 1.33-1.17 (6H, m), 1.10 (18H, d).
