1-(5-Fluoro-3,3-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-indol-1-yl)-ethanone (1.1 g, 6.0 mmol) was treated with chlorosulfonic acid (10 mL) following similar methods to those described in Preparation 63) to give the desired compound (900 mg) as a grey solid. 1H NMR (Acetone-d6): 8.76 (1H, d), 7.54 (1H, d), 4.10 (2H, s), 2.32-2.23 (3H, m), 1.48 (6H, s).
