3,3-Dimethyl-6-phenylamino-2,3-dihydro-pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (60 mg, 0.18 mmol) was treated with HCl (saturated solution in EtOAc) and stirred for 4 h. The mixture was then evaporated to dryness in vacuo to give a colourless gum which was used without further purification. MS: [M+H]+=240.
