6-(2-Chloro-phenoxy)-3,3-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridine-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (143 mg) was treated with HCl (saturated solution in ethyl acetate) and stirred for 4 hours. The mixture was then evaporated to dryness in vacuo to give a colourless solid used directly in the next step without further purification. MS: [M+H]+=275.
