Saturated HCl in EtOAc (10 mL) was added to 6-bromo-3-methoxymethyl-3-methyl-2,3-dihydro-indole-1-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester (300 mg, 0.84 mmol) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The solvent was removed in vacuo, the solid was washed with Et2O and dried in vacuo to give the title compound (220 mg) as a yellow semi-solid. MS: [M+H]+=256.
