PROCEDURE

The compound of step 1 (67 mg, 0.148 mmol) was dissolved in THF (1 ml) and cooled in an ice bath. Sodium borohydride (5.7 mg, 0.148 mmol) was added. Subsequently methanol (0.3 ml) was added dropwise. The ice bath was removed and after stirring for 45 min at room temperature the mixture was partitioned between EA and 2 N hydrochloric acid. The aqueous phase was extracted with EA, and the combined organic phases were dried over sodium sulfate and evaporated to dryness to yield the title compound (65 mg).
