Tert-butyl 4-{1-[(5-ethyl-1,3-oxazol-2-yl)methyl]-2,4-dioxo-6-phenyl-1,4-dihydrothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-3(2H)-yl}piperidine-1-carboxylate (530 mg; compound B1) is dissolved in a solution of hydrogen chloride in 1,4-dioxane (10 ml, 6.8 M). The solution is stirred for 0.5 h at RT. The resulting precipitate is filtered off, washed with diethyl ether and dried in vacuo to give the title compound as a solid.
