A solution of tert-butyl 4-{1-[(4-ethyl-1,3-oxazol-2-yl)methyl]-2,4-dioxo-6-phenyl-1,4-dihydrothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-3(2H)-yl}piperidine-1-carboxylate (780 mg; compound B5) in DCM (20 ml) is reacted with a solution of hydrogen chloride in 1,4-dioxane (3 ml, 4.0 M) according to the procedure described in example B28 to afford the title compound as a solid.
