A solution of tert-butyl 4-{1-[(2-methyl-1,3-thiazol-5-yl)methyl]-2,4-dioxo-6-phenyl-1,4-dihydrothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-3(2H)-yl}piperidine-1-carboxylate (715 mg; compound B20) in DCM (15 ml) is reacted with trifluoroacetic acid (3 ml) according to the procedure described in example B43 to afford the title compound as a solid.
