To a solution of [ethyl 5-(4-isopropylcyclohex-1-en-1-yl)-4-methylisoxazole-3-carboxylate] (92 mg, 0.332 mmol) in THF (5 mL) and MeOH (3 mL) was added 2M sodium hydroxide (aq) (0.166 mL, 0.332 mmol) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 hrs. The resulting mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure and diluted with water. The aqueous layer was washed with EtOAc, acidified with 2M HCl (aq) and extracted with EtOAc. The organic extracts were dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to afford the title compound;
