Procedure
A solution of HCl in dioxane (0.6 ml) was added to a solution of racemic tert-butyl N-[(1R,2R,3S)-2-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-methyl-cyclopropyl]carbamate. (84.5 mg) in dichloromethane (1.2 ml). The solution was left for 3 hours during which time a white precipitate had formed. The solvent was evaporated and the solid was stirred with diethyl ether, filtered off, and washed with more ether to yield 43.4 mg (83%) of racemic (1R,2R,3S)-2-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-methyl-cyclopropanamine hydrochloride
