Tert-butyl 4-(2-(2-oxo-2,3-dihydrooxazole-5-carboxamido)ethyl)piperidine-1-carboxylate (step 2) (257.8 mg, 0.760 mmol) was solubilised in DCM (1.5 ml). 4M HCl in dioxane (1.9 ml, 7.60 mmol) was added and the reaction mixture stirred at RT. After all gas had ceased to be evolved, the reaction mixture was solubilised with in MeOH and evaporated under reduced pressure to afford the title compound;
