100 mg of 1-(2-fluorobenzyl)-1,4,5,6-tetrahydrocyclopenta[c]pyrazole-3-carboximidamide 1-2-4 (0.39 mmol, 1.0 eq.) and 37 mg methoxymalononitrile (0.39 mmol, 1.0 eq.; for preparation see: US2003/144538 A1, 2003) were dissolved in 1 mL DMF. The mixture was heated for 30 min in a microwave oven at 100° C. After addition of 10 mL water, the precipitated, crude product was filtered off and was purified by flash chromatography yielding 66 mg (0.19 mmol, 48%) of analytically pure target compound.
