A mixture of methyl 5-(4-chloro-3-(methoxymethyl)-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)-2,4-dimethylbenzoate (compound 281.3, 20 mg, 0.06 mmol) and HBr-HOAc (5 mL) was stirred overnight at 80° C., then concentrated under reduced pressure to yield 20 mg (90%) of the title compound as a yellow oil.
