A mixture of 5-(3-(bromomethyl)-4-chloro-1H-pyrazol-5-yl)-2,4-dimethylbenzoic acid (compound 304.1, 200 mg, 0.58 mmol) and NaHCO3 (0.3 M, 10 mL) was stirred for 30 min at room temperature, then concentrated under reduced pressure. This resulted in 200 ma (crude) of the title compound as a white solid.
