The product of Step E (0.126 g, 0.31 mmol) was used to alkylate 0.050 g (0.29 mmol) of 5,7-dimethyl-2-ethylimidazo[4,5-b]pyridine according to the procedure described for Step B of Example 2, which after purification afforded 0.096 g (68%) of the title compound.
