Procedure

Eight-tenths gram (0.0018 mol) of the product of Example 52 in 30 mL of nitromethane was methylated with 0.8 mL of methyl iodide at 25°-30° C. for 48 hours. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue was slurried with ethyl ether, filtered and dried over P2O5. The quaternary salt was obtained in 83% yield (0.88 g) as a light yellow solid melting at 172°-175° C. (dec.) and having the structural formula: ##STR94##
